Esalen® Massage: Twists, Turns, and Stretches for Your Client
With Robin Fann Costanzo - a 3.5-Hour Advanced Workshop
Take your Esalen® massage practice deeper with this hands-on workshop exploring movement, range of motion, and assisted stretching while staying grounded in the principles of Esalen massage.
Designed for experienced Esalen massage practitioners, this workshop invites you to expand your vocabulary of touch by incorporating intentional movement into your sessions. You will explore how and when to introduce these techniques fluidly and safely within the rhythm of a full session.
In this workshop you will learn:
Range of motion work with the knees, hips, and shoulders
Quad and hip flexor stretching in the prone position
Shoulder stretching and mobilization
Guiding your client into a safe, supported twist in the supine position
Rolling your client from supine to side-lying with ease and confidence
Workshop Format: The session opens with a short introduction followed by a self-care and movement practice — you will move through twists and stretches in your own body before bringing them to your client. From there, the group moves into demonstration and partnered practice, first prone, then supine. Underwear is encouraged while practicing these techniques.
Prerequisites: This workshop is intended for skilled Esalen massage practitioners.
