Sound and Scent in Esalen® Massage
With Ellen Watson and Daniela Urbassek
Explore sound, scent, and touch in Esalen® Massage, working with essential oils and voiced vibration to deepen presence and connection.
Ellen and Daniela guide the group into the quiet, relational field at the heart of Esalen® Massage — a meeting of giver and receiver shaped by slow attention and listening hands.
From here, participants explore how scent can influence relaxation, focus, and emotional balance. A curated selection of essential oils supports the practice in simple, accessible ways that stay close to the body and its natural rhythms.
Sound is woven in gently. Participants are invited to sense their own voice as a subtle instrument — through humming, breath-tones, or soft vibration that helps settle the nervous system and deepen attunement. These elements remain supportive and grounded, always serving presence at the table.
Throughout the workshop there is space for short exchanges, guided exploration, and shared reflection. The intention is not to master techniques, but to experience how touch, scent, and sound come together to create more ease, more presence, and a more sensuous quality of being with another.
You are warmly invited to this 3.5-hour exploration of touch, scent, and sound — a gentle encounter with the sensuous heart of Esalen® Massage.
