The Practitioner Elixir

With Brita Ostrom

A 3.5-hour workshop with Brita exploring renewal, body mechanics, and steady presence in Esalen® Massage. A warm invitation to return to touch with ease.

This half-day workshop is designed for those moments when a practitioner arrives at the table with less energy than hoped for, yet still wishes to offer a session of clarity, value, and grounded presence. In a calm and supportive space, Brita Ostrom invites participants to reconnect with their own bodies so that giving becomes replenishing rather than draining.

The 3.5 hours begin with a tai ji–inspired review of body mechanics. This simple orientation helps practitioners return to alignment, ease, and efficient movement — especially helpful on days when fatigue is present. A short look at nourishment and hydration offers practical ways to sustain energy throughout the work.

A central part of the workshop explores the question: Why am I tired?
Brita introduces the RAIN process — recognize, acknowledge, investigate, self-nourish — as a gentle, structured way to meet inner states with honesty and care.

Within this condensed format, the group touches into core themes:

• Self-expectations and reality — working with the day as it is.
• The Trager concept of hook-up — learning to give while receiving.
• The art of fine listening — creating space for intuition in the hands.
• Touch that finds “the right place” — simple, responsive, and grounded.
• A therapeutic timeline — contact, moving on, integration; sensing change without forcing it.
• Assisted movement — using light movement to support integration.
• Closing rituals — brushing off, closing the door, stepping forth with clarity.

This workshop offers a meaningful reset. Practitioners leave with tools that help them arrive at the table more fully — and step away from it feeling steadier, clearer, and more themselves.

You are warmly invited to join this half-day of embodied learning and renewal.
