Meridian Points and Esalen® Massage
Daniela Urbassek
This class introduces key meridian pathways and their relevance within Esalen®Massage. Participants learn how meridian awareness can refine listening, sequencing, and whole-body integration.
The class begins with grounding and intention setting. Students attune to breath, weight, and internal orientation as preparation for subtle meridian exploration.
A short theoretical segment offers clear orientation to five pathways: Bladder, Gallbladder, Kidney, Liver, and Large Intestine. Their roles in softening, directionality, and fluid transitions are explained in simple, practical terms.
A guided demonstration follows, showing how meridian-informed touch supports continuity and natural flow within the Esalen sequence. The instructor highlights direction, pacing, and whole-body movement rather than line-tracing or technique-driven precision.
During the hands-on exchange, participants practice following lines of ease, sensing invitation beneath the hands, and integrating one or two pathways without forcing structure. Space is offered for feedback, refinement, and advanced-level questions on subtle perception.
The class closes with group reflection and a short centering practice to integrate learning and support embodied understanding.
