Continuum meets Esalen® Massage — The Fluid Body of Awareness

With Ingrid May

Ingrid May invites you into the fluid field where Continuum meets Esalen® Massage.

This workshop invites Practitioners to explore how the principles of Continuum, developed by Emilie Conrad, can deepen and transform the art of touch.

Continuum is a somatic movement practice that uses breath, sound, and fluid motion to awaken the body’s natural intelligence. It reminds us that we are not solid structures to be fixed, but dynamic living systems — continuously evolving, responding, and renewing.

When applied to massage, these principles open a new dimension of listening and responsiveness. Rather than working on the body, we begin to move with it — sensing its rhythms, pauses, and inner waves. Touch becomes a conversation that supports self-regulation and integration, rather than manipulation or correction.

Through guided Continuum explorations, partner work, and reflective touch practice, participants will learn to:

  • Cultivate presence and deep sensory awareness in their hands and whole body

  • Integrate breath and sound to enhance fluidity and resonance in their work

  • Recognize and follow subtle movements within tissue and fascia

  • Support clients’ innate capacity for healing and coherence

This workshop offers both personal nourishment and professional enrichment — an opportunity to replenish your own fluid vitality while expanding your therapeutic vocabulary.
